Future Artist

With our pantry & refrigerator in need of some serious restocking... Jei brought out a notebook and pen one evening so we could make a grocery list. Allen was being his usual turd-self at the time when giving him his bottle so early in the evening would've been sleep suicide! So in an attempt to try and settle him down a bit, Jei brought Allen up to sit with her in the recliner. After a while Jei & I both noticed how quiet it was without a 16-month-old screaming, crying and whinning all throughout the TV show we were enjoying (Yeah - yeah, we know... ignoring our attention-starved child as we watch TV instead is awesome parenting!). So when we looked to see what had Allen's attention, which we assumed was the television, we were pleasantly surprised to see that he had somehow found the pen, held it right side up, clicked it "on," and began to scribble onto the notepad. Both Jei & I were actually really impressed... and then realized we need to get this on video.  So Jei quickly turned on the computer that was on the arm of the recliner and began to record his work of art.

Naturally, when Allen was done with his masterpiece, we immediately put it on the refrigerator door to show it off as any proud Mom & Dad would. Obviously it's an abstract piece... but still, not bad for a 16-month-old! Not sure if Allen will be artistic when he grows up, but if he is, we'll certainly have documented evidence of when it all began!

  1. His Mojo will definitely bring him some new crayons and markers to encourage his artistic talent!
