A Little Off The Top

With winter coming to an end and a trip down to Mexico to see family just around the corner... Jeilene all but demanded that her little 'Doodle' finally get his first haircut.

Like I was with Allen, and probably even more so with Jack... I did not want those long locks to be cut. But considering how long and crazy is was getting, not to mention the polite request by his Nina Michele to get it trimmed before his visit... I had no choice but to give in and take my son to get a trim. 

But before we made the trip to the salon... we had a little photo shoot outside (like we did with Allen), just to see how long and crazy Jack's hair really was!

We began with the Eddie Munster...

and then next came the Alfalfa!

The old man comb-over was a must!

The pubescent Justin Bieber made an appearance too!

And then several versions of the 80's punk rock mohawk came next.

And last but not least...

the last do we did was the finger-in-the-electrical-socket!

So after finally nailing down a date to go, we get to the kids-only haircut place... and Jack found exactly where he was going to sit for his first haircut.

"Just a little off the top, right?"

Much to our delight... as well as the hairdresser's and everybody else in the establishment, Jack was an absolute delight in the hot seat!

Not sure if the lollipop helped...

but we figured it couldn't have hurt.

Halfway through Jack realized he arrived with his brother,

but hadn't seen or heard from him...

A quick peek over the wall into the little playroom

and there his brother was... quietly playing with blocks.

Just to be on the safe side... in case the lollipop didn't work and a tantrum broke out, his favorite youtube video was put on for his viewing pleasure. 

I certainly protested at first and hate seeing that baby hair get cut... but boy do I love seeing our little boy so clean-cut and grown up!

All done!!!  So proud of our little Jackie Doodle. Being such a happy little fella... not sure why we ever had any doubt his first haircut was going to go so smoothly!
