As if being a stay-at-home mom with a __-month-old isn't hard enough... throw in an entire afternoon of baking and decorating in the kitchen and you've got yourself one Hell of a busy day! One of our neighbors came over the other day with her 9-month-old son Nathan to join me in baking some holiday treats. It felt good to get back baking again, even though there were no cakes involved, but regardless, we had a really good time. We sort of figured we be in and out in around 4 hours, but it took a lot longer than we had expected... for I believe we bit off a little more than we could chew (figuratively speaking of course!).
All said and done, we had some really yummy treats that looked just about as good as they tasted and we had a fun time doing it! The boys took their naps and we tagged team for their attention when they weren't, but I have to say the boys behaved quite nicely and it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be! Alec came home that afternoon and was thoroughly impressed at how much baking we got done while taking care of two little boys at the same time... so much so that he invited Nathan & his mom back the following day to help clean the house and do laundry! They obviously politely declined! I sure did luck-out having a friendly neighbor with a son that Allen Jess can (eventually) play with, and that likes to bake. What a fun day! ...is it just me or is anyone else really hungry right now?
