Stayin' Cool In The Pool

Okay... so maybe it's not triple digits like it was out east recently, but it's definitely warm here too in Southern California. And when it's Summertime and it's warm, there's only one thing to do here at the "Etheridge Resort"... play in the pool! Of course in order for that to happen the pool actually has to be clean! Crazy to think that I practically grew up in a swimming pool and even maintained one as a summer job once and I somehow have a difficult time keeping our pool from turning green! So when it's hot out and your pool's as green as your grass, you gotta do what'cha gotta do. And in this case, Jei did just that... as she cleaned out the cat's old litter box from the garage, poured a little water in it, and sat Allen in it with some toys outside in the shade.   

Not sure Allen Jess even knew the difference...

as he was happy as could be in his little water box!

After a few nasty looks and an ever-so-slightest nudge of persistence... it wasn't long before I finally had the pool clean, crystal clear, and ready to jump in... and that's exactly what Jei & Allen Jess did!

It wasn't very warm... the water temp that is, so while Jei fought off the initial shock after getting in, Allen obviously wasn't bothered by it... as he was too busy and completely fascinated with splashing around in his pool!   

With all the excitement of playing in the pool, along with the hot summer sun beating down... a pool-side nap was almost inevitable! 

And if it wasn't Allen or his Momma in the pool...

it was definitely family eager to cool off and relax.

I'd say life's pretty darn good for the little guy!

Funny this is... Allen is starting to get the exact same tan lines as his Daddy... which does not sit well with Mommy!

With prune (old man) feet starting to set in...

a little break from the water and the sun was needed.  

"Ma... I know I'm part Mexican, but this is ridiculous!"

This time Allen got to hang out with his Daddy while the waterfall was actually on... which he most definitely preferred!

Given a clean clear pool and warm weather...

it was hard to come up with excuses not to get into the pool!

Not a chance we could get him to look at the camera and smile while in the pool!

One of our most recent purchases was a walker... 

but for the pool! (A "floater"?)

It took him a few minutes to understand it and like it...

but once he did, he was absolutely loving it!

It was super cute to watch him kick his little legs as if he was in his walker. We weren't sure how long he was going to enjoy it... but I'll just say his parents got tired of being in the pool before he did!

Here's to many more hot summer days...
