Fiesta!

The ceremony was great and all... but I think we all were really looking forward to the big fiesta later that afternoon! Unfortunately, once we got back from the church, we had some work to do. Everyone lent a hand and got all the tables set and ready to go.

The finished product almost looked too pretty to sit down, eat and mess up!

And while the finishing touches were being done to the tables, the most important part of the party showed up... with Jorge making sure there wasn't going to be anyone left thirsty at the end of the night!

The work was done and the celebrating was about to begin!

Friends and family began to show up which made the party that much more special, and of course lots more fun! (What a shame somebody's big ole dumb hand had to get in the way... sorry Ladies!)

With all the mingling and food preparation going on... no doubt Allen & Jorge found time to monkey around with each other!

Speaking of a couple of Monkeys... it was super hard not to have 'perma-grin' the entire afternoon/evening!

All of a sudden some idiot yelled out, "PAAAARTY!!!"
...and the Fiesta was on!

"Nina, why is my Daddy so crazy?"

While we still had daylight, Jorge gathered all the little people around and started throwing money all over the place! I made my way through the crowd pushing and knocking down whomever was in my way to get my hands on some of that coin... until I realized they were doing "Bolo", which was a customary tradition after baptisms that supposedly helps give both health & wealth to the baby. Apparently adults weren't allowed to participate, so I graciously gave up all my money to the little ones!

Dinner was served... and it was definitely gobbled up fast! Barbocoa with potatoes, beans, macaroni salad, and tortillas... Mmmmmm, how wonderful it was!

Of course after dinner, it was all about getting our drink on!

Perhaps some more than others!

Two very proud, happy and beautiful Godparents!
...who definitely know how to throw a party!

Allen Jess sure does love a good fiesta...
and that night was certainly no exception!

It was absolutely impossible not to totally like Michele & Jorge's friends and enjoy their company! I was just happy a few of them managed to speak a little English!

"So a Catholic Priest, a Rabbi, and a Buddhist Monk
all walk into a bar..."

Momma Soch took care of cutting and passing out the cake.

After a while, things (people) started to get a little silly!

And the sad thing is... (perhaps a good thing?)
I don't think alcohol had anything to do with it!

...Or maybe alcohol did have something to do with it!

Allen Jess got passed around a ton that night! We definitely saw him, but I'm pretty sure neither one of us actually held him the entire night... which certainly was fine by us!

Jorge and Michele had their family with them, their friends over, amazingly delicious food, and of course lots of beer & wine... life was indeed, very good! We can't thank you two enough for throwing such a wonderful party for us!

The party wrapped up pretty late...
but the celebration was only just beginning!

A certain little party animal wanted to stay up with all the big people, so the jammies were put on and the party moved indoors!

The first order of business...
to open all the gifts Allen Jess got from family & friends!

What good is a new cute little swim outfit...

...Without a pair of sunglasses and a boonie hat?!

A new picture frame and a nice warm jacket for when he gets older. Obviously there were gifts that Allen was interested in... and a few he wasn't so interested in!

A new snugly blanket for instance...
certainly sparked his interest!

After all the gift opening,
the kids & I were left to play on our own...

While Allen and his Nino spent some quality time together!

It had been a long day for Jorge, so he quietly snuck off upstairs with his Godson for a little last minute playtime before bed.

"Thanks Nino for throwing me such an awesome party!"

Allen Jess tried to keep his Godfather awake... but Jorge just couldn't stay up any longer! So Michele went and got him so he could play with the rest of us downstairs!

And playtime certainly did ensue!
It was late, we were crazy, and we had so much fun!

Allen Jess was an absolute trooper! He kept his fussiness to a minimum and his happiness to the maximum!

We all eventually said goodnight and finally made it to our beds. From start to finish, the day was filled with excitement, laughter, and tons of fun! I'm pretty sure we were all worn out and ready for a good night's sleep, but the day couldn't have gone any better and we would have done it over again in a heart beat! As Jei & I kissed our son goodnight, we couldn't help but feel so extraordinarily blessed to have such wonderful family in our lives!
