With it being our first weekend settled back at home, and of course Mother's Day being on Sunday... we all agreed that it would be a great idea to have all the girls down from L.A. to spend the weekend with us celebrating! And on Saturday, it was our belated April birthdays that we celebrated first!
The day started out warm & sunny... but then the wind picked up, the clouds moved in, and it got a little too chilly to have our feast outside... so we moved indoors where everyone was warm and happy!As usual, I was the grill-master... in charge of feeding eight hungry mouths!
Meanwhile, the Birthday Girl was in charge of getting everything ready to eat.
After stuffing our faces with some really good food... we all gathered into the living room to celebrate our birthdays with lots & lots of presents!
Naturally, Ming & Bing had front row seats to see all the excitement!
After all the wonderful gifts had been opened, it was time for Chef Gema to strut her stuff! We all slowly migrated back to the dining room table and waited for the grand finale!
We had cake-pops and petit fours to snack on, all made by the chef herself... but I think we all were really looking forward to digging into her five-layered chocolate cake!
The weather ended up being rather crummy... but with great food, amazing desserts, and a house full of wonderful company, our belated birthday celebration turned out to be lots of fun!
Thank you girls for driving down, for all the great gifts, and for making us feel so dorky... er, I mean special!
Yeah!!! Now... I sure with I had a bite of that chocolate cake! Happy Belated b'days again, and glad y'all are home and with family! How great...
