How exciting...
Allen Jess's first doctor's appointment,
And our first 'outing' as a family!
Allen did pretty good during the night but he was still up every few hours wanting to eat... so that meant we were up!
Once the big people were up, dressed and ready to go...
It was time to dress the little one.
And today it was the oh-so-cute duck outfit!
Dressed, looking cute, and ready to go show off for the doctor! I guess it was technically his second car ride, the first being the ride home from the hospital... but as expected, the 10 minute trip totally put him to sleep. Allen did great once we were in the doctor's office, that is until we had to strip him down... and then of course the fussiness commenced. Surprisingly, Allen's weight was down from 8 lbs 13 oz to 8 lbs 2 oz... which according to the doctor was a borderline significant (and concerning) weight loss, so he wanted to see Allen again a lot sooner than usual. Other than his weight being down, Allen Jess was given a clean bill of health!
To celebrate the successful doctor's visit and the new addition to our family... well, actually, we were all starving and didn't think we could make it home before diving into the baby's formula... that plus we had a good coupon! But regardless, the four of us stopped by a local Mexican restaurant for a late lunch and sat outside, ate some good food, and enjoyed the wonderful weather.
To be honest, I was kind of nervous and actually dreading going out in public for the first time with such a young baby. But amazingly, Allen Jess behaved quite magnificently! Our first doctor's appointment went well and our first real 'outing' couldn't have gone any better. It was a very good day!
