No Plans... No Problem

It felt really strange not having any plans, no real itinerary, or even anything to look forward to doing during Moe-Joe & Dad-Oh's short visit here together. I honestly can't remember a time when we all got together and didn't have at least one thing, one fun activity, or one remotely interesting family outing planned and marked on the calendar! But despite the odd feeling and not having any plans, we totally made lemonade and made the best with our time together... which turned out to be very relaxing and lots of fun! Of course I knew there was really only one thing any of us wanted to do anyway... to sit around and stare, hold, and play with Allen Jess, so anything beyond that was really a bonus!

A typical morning... Moe-Joe playing with the Monkey and Dad-Oh playing games! And unbeknownst to Jei & me, Dad-Oh realized we have a baby genius on our hands... crossword puzzles in his sleep!

After a long morning of playing, eating, napping, and doing puzzles... we built up quite the appetite, so we headed out to the Temecula wineries for a little lunch.

With a completely racked-out baby...
We were all able to enjoy a magnificent meal on a gorgeous day!

And then it was back home to try and wake our little Munchkin up...
purely for our sake of course!

That night the ladies slaved away in the kitchen preparing dinner.

The next morning Moe-Joe & Dad-Oh were up early...
and debating on who was going to change his diaper!

Moe-Joe said it was Dad-Oh's turn to change him and left him to figure it out... but apparently Dad-Oh had more important things to do!

Later that morning Allen's Grandparents actually agreed on something for a change and decided to take him for a nice stroll around the neighborhood!

That afternoon Allen Jess was all excited to see his first college football game with his Dad-Oh! We got him dressed up in his "I'm a little (Georgia Tech) Engineer" outfit and got him ready for the big game.

Mommy even got to wear and show off her new t-shirt!

We drove down the street to the local sports bar where Moe-Joe & Dad-Oh quickly realized they weren't in the South anymore!

Apparently college football here in Southern California isn't quite as popular as it is in the South...

So we literally had the back room and the big screen all to ourselves...
as we enjoyed some good beer and some delicious food!

I think Allen Jess wore himself out during all the pre-game excitement back at the house, which completely knocked him out for the entire game at the bar. It was probably a good thing though, seeing as how Tech didn't put up much of a fight and ended up losing the game! But at least we had a happy little man on our hands... which is more than I can say for another certain man in our party that afternoon!

After stuffing our faces with a bunch of health food (hah!) at the sports bar, we were all in need of a good walk! We hit up historic 'Old Town' in Temecula and enjoyed a wonderful stroll.

And then again... back home to do what Allen Jess does best:
eat, sleep & play with his Dad-Oh!

Once bedtime crept closer, we crossed our fingers and hoped that a nice warm bath would sooth the little guy and help put him to sleep.

Actually, after the meltdown he had during his first bath last week, we were just hoping he wouldn't freak out and throw another fit for bath number two!

Lucky for us...
he absolutely loved it!

He loved it so much in fact...
that he was not a happy camper when we took him out!

The following morning Dad-Oh took some time out from his paper-reading, coffee-sipping, and puzzle-doing to play with his Grandson for a while.

After a super lazy morning, we were in need of some exercise and didn't want to waste a beautiful day... so we decided to go for a stroll by the lake (Elsinore).

All that strolling must have built up an appetite... so once we got home Dad-Oh stepped up and fed and burped the little guy.

Meanwhile...
the ladies enjoyed some wine & a couple of good laughs!
...or was it a couple of good glasses of wine & some laughs???

It was Dad-Oh's last night with us... so we did it up right and grilled up some burgers and had a delicious dinner together!

And then later that night, Dad-Oh made sure there was proof that he at least once helped change a diaper! It was just too bad Allen couldn't muster up any explosive poo's at the most inappropriate time!

We were all up early the next morning... making sure Dad-Oh got some good quality time in with Allen Jess before we had to leave for the airport.

All fed, changed, dressed, buckled-in, and ready to hit the road! Let's go to the airport! (The blanket was a good way to keep his little bobble-head securely in place!)

We made it to the airport in plenty of time and we all kissed, hugged and waved goodbye to Dad-Oh. Thank you Grandpa Dad-Oh for visiting, taking care of Allen Jess, and for treating us all to wonderful meals! We enjoyed your company and you will be missed!

And then there were four of us...
So with Moe-Joe tagging along, we moved on to our next adventure!
