Welcome Home

Two long days in the hospital...

One healthy big baby...

And two exhausted new parents...

Thank God it was time to go home!

Alec got Allen Jess all dressed up and ready to go in his 'going home' outfit... which proved to be a little more difficult than expected.

But once he was all suited up, he sure looked handsome!

His parents on the other hand...

looked like death!  

Perhaps one day he'll understand.

The car seat was installed literally the day before his birth, so there wasn't much time to get acquainted with it... but I'm just glad we had it ready for the trip home, for the hospital wouldn't even have allowed Allen to leave without one!  

In the car all buckled up and secured...

Next Stop: HOME!!!

Given that it was during the day, combined with the nice soothing 10 minute car ride, Allen Jess was completely racked out for the big arrival! 

And who do you think was the first one to greet him was?

Both Ming & Bing greeted us at the door... 

But it was Ming who just couldn't resist her curiosity!  

Bing was curious too, but it was Ming who got the closest and who really wanted to sniff this new guy out! 

"Hey... who the Hell is this?!"

Just for the first few days, we made the downstairs bedroom our new nursery... solely to avoid having to go up & down the stairs all day & night!

We had Key-Dens to feed, things to put away, bags to unpack, and lunch to eat... so we put him in his new playpen cradle and lucky for us he managed to take another little nap.

"Not to worry... go ahead and eat your lunch. I'll look after him."

If it were another animal I think Bing would have been more interested and friendly. But another little human and he just seemed more afraid than anything.

I think Ming & Bing were just glad their Mommy & Daddy were finally home... but having a new little person in the house certainly kept them on their toes!

After both Allen Jess & I stuffed our faces with lunch that afternoon, it was time for some much needed shuteye!  

"Soon!"

Both of us strongly agreed... it felt really good to be home! Once we got settled in and got our temporary room/nursery organized, we were able to unwind a little. But we were both undoubtably still high from all the excitement (and the lack of sleep) from the previous few days. Once Alec & I woke up from our cat naps, we both looked over at Allen Jess who was still asleep, looked back at each other and smiled... and then Alec said, "Now what?!"
